i. Advise on what project would cost.

ii. Advise on what size and standard of structure can be erected for any given expenditure.

iii. Advise on the economics of a project and the preparation of a budget.

iv. Co-operate with the Architects, Engineer and Planners to ensure that a building can be erected for approved expenditure.

v. Exercise control during the construction that the cost is not exceeded without authority.
